Hurricane Ike Survivor Wins National Scholarship Award

Corinthian Colleges Presents Scholarship to Houston-Area Resident Maricela Barrientes for Persisting Through Hurricane Crisis and Family Medical Issue

HOUSTON (October 11, 2010) – Corinthian Colleges, parent company of Everest Institute, today awarded Maricela Barrientes the company’s 2010 Dream Award. The award recognizes graduates who have overcome personal obstacles to complete their studies and find success in their chosen fields. Barrientes was selected from over 100 campus winners and awarded a full Everest scholarship to continue her education.

Medical Administrative Assistant, Dental Assistant Programs New At Everest’s Fort Worth South Campus

Health care Career Training Programs Address Community Needs

FORT WORTH, Texas (June 16, 2010) – With the demand for medical administrative assistants expected to increase 16 percent and dental assistants expected to increase 36 percent over the next 10 years, both of these health care specialties are projected to have large numbers of job openings, according to the Bureau and Labor Statistics*. To meet that demand, Everest College’s new Fort Worth South campus has added two health care programs -- Medical Administrative Assistant and Dental Assistant.

Happiest Day of the Year Sentiment Prevails Despite Increased Demands At Work

Survey: 79% of Working Texans Are Happy With Their Jobs

DALLAS-FORT WORTH (June 14, 2010) – According to Dr. Cliff Arnall, a Cardiff University researcher, June 18, marks the happiest day of the year. Arnall determined that the "happiest day" was the result of summer’s longer days and warmer weather, the anticipation of one’s vacation, and happy memories of childhood summers. Everest College recently set out to determine Texans’ actual levels of work happiness as summer approaches. The Everest College Texas Workplace Satisfaction Survey revealed that approximately 79 percent of working Texans are happy with their jobs, despite increased responsibility and hours due to downsizing.
