Everest College – Tacoma Launches Paralegal Program
TACOMA, Wash. (March 4, 2010) – Everest College – Tacoma today announced that it is adding a two-year paralegal studies program to its course offering. The paralegal field is anticipating rapid growth in the next decade, with increased employment of paralegals and legal assistants by 28 percent between 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations, according to projections by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The school is expected to launch its Associate of Science paralegal program in April, and is already accepting students.
Everest College-Everett Adds Accredited Criminal Justice Associate Degree Program
Everest College-Everett today announced that it is adding a two-year criminal justice degree program to its course offering. The field of criminal justice is expected to grow significantly between 2008 and 2018, with increased employment of police officers and detectives by 10 percent, probation officers and correctional treatment specialists by 19 percent and private detectives and investigators by 22 percent, according to projections by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics*. The school has targeted April to launch its Associate of Science in Criminal Justice program.
Everest College Poll Reveals Chicago-area Employees Daydream About Starting New Careers
In a survey conducted by Everest College of more than 500 Chicagoland employees ages 18 to 35 on job satisfaction, 61 percent confess they daydream about starting a new career. And, although currently employed, 58 percent of respondents admitted they would actually change jobs if nothing stood in their way. By far the highest number of respondents – 59 percent – indicated that the main obstacle to making a career change is the fact that they believe there are fewer jobs available during a recession.
