Everest University’s Orange Park campus stood tall for America’s military veterans, presenting a check for $500 to the Veterans Law Center of Jacksonville, Inc. at the 2008 Military Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Councils on November 20.The Veterans Law Center is known for providing free support and counsel to America’s honorably discharged veterans and their families.
Maj. Gail Marion, Orange Park’s Librarian and a retired Army officer presented the check to Veterans Law Center chairman of the board, Judge Hal Moroz. Moroz also serves as the Academic Dean at Orange Park.
“Our campus president, Bruce Jones, is a champion in supporting our students and our military community,” said Marion. “He totally supported our participation today!”
“If Everest University is known for anything, it is known for positively changing the lives of its students,” said Moroz. “And today, Everest University is continuing that proud record of service by positively changing the lives of America’s military veterans.”
The event was attended by Orange Park campus faculty and staff, Mayor John Peyton of Jacksonville, Adjutant General of Florida, Maj. Gen. Douglas Burnett, and more than a thousand other proud veteran supporters.
