Criminal Justice Program provides quality leaders in Florida law enforcement

It’s no surprise that criminal justice careers are in hot demand given the saturation of TV dramas centering on our nation’s law enforcement industry. They can be exciting to watch, but in reality the number of violent crimes is rising annually. According to the most recent statistics published by the U.S. Department of Justice statistics, Florida continues to rank second highest for violent crimes in the nation, totaling 131,880 in 2007. Everest Institute – Fort Lauderdale recognizes the need to produce quality leaders in the criminal justice system and announces today its first criminal justice associates degree program.

Why Be a Forensic Science Technician?


If you have ever seen a television police procedural like CSI: Crime Scene Investigations, Law & Order or even The Closer, you probably have a good idea of what a forensic science technician does. Usually employed by city, county, state or federal law enforcement agencies, forensic science technicians are the people responsible for collecting, identifying, classifying, preserving and ultimately determining the meaning of physical evidence collected at a crime scene.
