Get Ready for the Business Rebound at Everest - Reseda

bigstockphoto_business_man_race_1588694.JPGOn April 8, Businessweek.com posted an analysis of the American economy by writer Mike Dorning titled, “Why the Obama Plan is Working.” While recent polls show that most Americans are still pessimistic about the economy, Dorning insists financial markets are pointing in a very positive direction.

“The Standard & Poor's 500-stock index is up more than 74 percent from its recessionary low in March 2009,” Dorning writes. “Corporate bonds have been rallying for a year. Commodity prices have surged. International currency markets have been bullish on the dollar for months … housing prices have stabilized. Mortgage rates are low.”

Noting that the economy grew at an annualized rate of 5.6 percent at the end of 2009, Dorning concludes that the economy, while still on the mend, is getting stronger — and doing it quickly. Jobs, which are always the last to respond to economic change, are coming back.
