Everest College – Henderson Adds Nursing, Celebrates $1.2 Million Expansion

HENDERSON, Nev. – November 17, 2010 – Everest College’s Henderson campus has opened a $1.2 million, 14,980 square foot expansion. A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new expansion and an open house for a nursing program that will open in January 2011 were held on November 17 at the campus, 170 N. Stephanie Street in Henderson.
The City of Henderson’s Economic Development Manager, Bob Cooper spoke about the importance of business growth and expansion for the city as well as job creation for Nevadans. “The City of Henderson celebrates the expansion of Everest College and the addition of the nursing program. This growth is positive news for Henderson, Las Vegas, the state of Nevada and our citizens. Students will have access to a wide variety of programs, including the new nursing program, giving them the skills they need to secure a future career,” said Cooper.
The Henderson Nevada Chamber of Commerce was on hand to cut the ribbon for the new facility.
“This is a proud moment for Everest College,” said David Fritz, president of Everest College’s Henderson campus. “Our expansion, including the addition of the nursing program, will help to meet the workforce needs of this state.”
Beginning in January 2011, students at Everest College’s Henderson campus will be able to earn an associate degree in nursing through a two-year accelerated program. In addition to the new nursing program, Everest College’s Henderson campus offers a variety of programs for full-time students, including associate degrees in paralegal, business, criminal justice and accounting. Diploma programs are offered in massage therapy, medical administrative assistant, medical assistant and medical insurance billing and coding. Under campus President, David Fritz’s leadership the campus has grown from 450 to nearly 1,200 students.
