Health is No. 1 Employment Field for College Grads

Health CareHealth is the No. 1 career field for college graduates, according to a new study by Georgetown University's Center on Education and the Workforce. The analysis, which was based on 2009 and 2010 data from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey, revealed that college graduates with the lowest rates of unemployment had a degree in health (5.4 percent), education (5.4) percent, and agriculture and natural resources (both 7 percent). Those with business and engineering degrees also did well, according to the survey's authors.

"People keep telling kids to study what they love, but some loves are worth more than others," said Anthony P. Carnevale, who helped author the report.

What degrees tended to have the most unemployed? According to the study: architecture (13.9 percent), the arts (11.1 percent) and the humanities (9.4 percent).
