Hot-Wire Your Electrician Career with Training from Everest in Merrillville

electriciantraining.JPGFor the past 125 years, the industrial world has run on electricity. It’s no wonder that electricians remain in high demand.

Electricians wire new buildings to provide power for lights, heating systems, appliances, computers, televisions and other power-hungry equipment. Electricians also troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in existing structures when power fails due to overloads, breakages, fire, storms and other forms of interference, both natural and man-made.

In addition electricians construct the transmission systems that bring power overland from generating stations to homes, commercial buildings and factories. Without electricians, we’d still be living our lives in the dark.

In Indiana, as with the United States as a whole, the number of electrician jobs is expected to increase faster than the average for jobs overall. Locally, electrician jobs are projected to increase 19 percent between 2012 and 2022, according to Indiana Department of Workforce Development. That’s just one percentage point below the 20 percent increase projected for electrician jobs nationwide, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).*

If you like working with your hands, can think logically, and can follow simple safety procedures, then an electrician career is something to consider. And if you live in northwest Indiana near Chicago, you can get that training at Everest College in Merrillville.
